About This Role
This role sits at the intersection of design and engineering. Our books are more than just pretty pages — they’re powered by smart personalization tech behind the scenes. You’ll be the one who brings them to life, translating final artwork into a fully functional, interactive product that people can personalize and gift. If you enjoy both the creative and technical sides of building great experiences, this is the perfect role for you.
We’ll train you on our tools — what matters most is that you’re detail-oriented, adaptable, and love bringing designs to life.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll learn everything that goes into creating a personalized book — working closely with our creative director and engineers throughout the process. Your job will be to add the finishing touches to each book (text, layout, print-ready files) and then work with engineering to sync everything with our personalization platform.
This is a truly cross-functional role — you’ll be hands-on in shaping how each book becomes a real, customizable gift that people love to give. You’ll:
- Fine-tune the last mile of design — making sure text placement, layout, and spacing feel just right
- Coordinate with our designers to prepare clean, print-ready files
- Learn and manage our personalization platform, Design Huddle (we’ll train you), and ensure every book is fully functional
- Use structured variables and logic (similar to a CMS or templating system) to bring our stories to life
- Work closely with engineering to connect the visuals with personalization logic
- Create launch visuals like mockups, thumbnails, and Amazon A+ content
- Quality check every step — from layout to logic — to make sure everything looks great and works perfectly
What We're Looking For
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of design and technology. You don’t need to be a developer — but you should feel comfortable jumping between design files and light technical tools. You'll help translate our artistic vision into clean, personalized, production-ready books
We're looking for someone with a strong design eye, a bias for action, and a systems mindset. You should be able to take ownership of a process, improve it, and execute it again and again — faster and better each time.
Ideal candidate has:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Understand layout and visual hierarchy, with great attention to detail
- Ownership experience — you’ve seen projects through to launch
- Comfortable working with structured tools (like CMS-style platforms, templating systems, or personalization logic)
- Great communication, whether you're sharing feedback or reporting an issue
- A sense of urgency and pride in shipping great work
Bonus points if you’ve worked in personalization, eCommerce, publishing, or just love books and beautiful design. UI/UX experience or light coding knowledge is also a plus.
